Practical applications of vortex flowmeters
The vortex flow meter is a sensor used to measure fluid flow. It calculates the flow rate by measuring the vortex frequency generated when the fluid passes through the pipe. Vortex flow meter has the advantages of simple structure, stability, reliability, higher accuracy, etc. It is widely used in various fields. The following will introduce our company’s vortex shedding flow meter in helping customers to solve production problems in the application case.
One of our local chemical plants needs to measure and control the flow of liquid media flowing through the pipeline to ensure production quality and efficiency. The factory finally decided to use AUTO's steam flow meter for flow monitoring.
First of all, our technicians chose the insertion vortex flow meter model suitable for the flow range and working conditions of the device according to the actual production situation of the factory and installed it on the pipeline. Next, the technicians carried out the commissioning and calibration of the vortex flowmeter. The technicians connected the vortex steam flow meter to the monitoring system and then set and calibrated its parameters. Parameter settings of the vortex flowmeter include the choice of measurement unit, output signal type, range, etc. During the calibration process, the technicians used a standard flowmeter to conduct a flow comparison test to ensure the measurement accuracy of the vortex gas flow meter.
Subsequently, the vortex flow sensor was put into operation. It is connected to the monitoring system through a signal line to transmit real-time flow data to the monitoring system. The monitoring system can monitor the flow rate changes of the liquid medium in real-time, and carry out alarm and control according to the set flow rate threshold.
In actual operation, the vortex flowmeter shows good performance. It has high-precision flow measurement capability and can automatically compensate for the effect of temperature and pressure changes on flow measurement. This makes the steam flow meter can accurately measure the flow under complex working conditions, providing accurate production data for the plant.
In addition, through the linkage with other equipment in the plant, the vortex flowmeter can also realize automatic control and adjustment. For example, in the production process, if the flow rate of the liquid medium exceeds or falls below the set threshold, the vortex flowmeter will send a signal to the monitoring system to trigger the corresponding control measures. This can help the factory find and solve flow anomalies in time to ensure the reliability and stability of the production process.
